 Benny grew up in the small town of New Roads, LA in the heart of “L.S.U.” country. There, Benny was influenced by her father’s photography talents. As a working professional photographer, her father, Jess W. Shows, taught Benny beyond the technical aspects of simply “pointing a camera” and instilled natural abilities of the art of photography within her.
One of Benny’s fondest childhood memories was sitting at the kitchen table at night watching her mother, Ruby; colorize black and white enlargements using Q-tips and paint.
Later in her adulthood, Benny gained valuable knowledge and influences through working closely with various well known professional photographers and color labs. After apprenticing at a professional studio for two years, Benny decided to fulfill her lifetime dreams and goal by opening “Benny S. Dupre Professional Photography”. Now as a well-known and established business Benny has gained a marked place in Slidell and the entire Northshore region. For the last five years her name has become a household word as she offers a wide range of photography services from Elegant Wedding Photography to shooting Sports with kids climbing in her lap at the ball fields.
